The Scariest Choice I Ever Made

When I knew I had to quit my corporate job

Since I was young, I glamorized the corporate ladder — specifically working in fashion. My favorite TV show was Ugly Betty, which, similar to The Devil Wears Prada and 13 Going on 30, showed a protagonist working her way up at a fashion magazine.

That was the dream.

Who knows what part that played in me eventually attending FIT, but I always knew I wanted to work in New York City, somewhere glitzy.

And eventually, I did. I found myself working in the beauty industry, on a path that truly felt like my dream trajectory. I earned promotions, built a team I adored, and had the creative freedom to bring big ideas to life.

So why in the world would I just… quit?
